The Corona Cabinet will be asked to approve a plan that includes closures on red cities

The Corona Cabinet will convene at 4:30 p.m. for a conference call session, at which Projector Roni Gamzo will bring his plan to approval, which includes differential closures on red cities and easing on green cities.
The cabinet is expected to decide to lift the weekend closure. The National Insurance Institute continues to push for a full closure in the last two weeks of August to bring the morbidity below 400 per day and allow the start of the school year. Gamzo shyed away from general closures and favors local closures.
The traffic light plan includes giving powers and tools to local authorities and the Home Front Command to deal with the disease picture by color distribution: a red city with a high level of morbidity, an orange city, a yellow city and a green city.
Gamzo toured the ultra-Orthodox red authorities this week and said to their leaders: "It is clear to us that if you want to get out of a red city status you know better than me how to do it because you control your city best. Tell me what it takes to take care of it." Some mayors oppose spending Corona patients on hotels and prefer to bring food home. The comments of the heads of the authorities are being translated into purposeful proposals by Gamzo's headquarters.
Prof. Gamzo set the goal of determining an absolute index of restrictions in cities by color and conditions for their removal. The program will include the Home Front Command, the Israel Police in the field of enforcement, the District Health Bureau and the HMOs. The green cities will be reinforced with tests to interrupt the contagion chain. Gamzo will also recommend giving relief to green cities with an emphasis on open spaces.
Gamzo was surprised by reports of criticism from ministers in the Corona Cabinet about his appearance at a hearing on Monday, and that he was seemingly helpless and not concrete in his proposals. "Okay, so they said," he said in closed conversations. "I came here to work and I rip my ass off every day. It's not fair. I'm not even a week on the job. Let me work."
Earlier he referred to the coefficient of adhesion (R), which has dropped in recent days and stabilized at 1. "We want the coefficient of adhesion to be lower than 1," said Prof. Gamzo. "What does it mean when he is 1? That one person infects one person. Three sick people - in the end three people are infected. We want less than 1, that is - three people will cause one patient. That way we will eradicate the plague and defeat the corona."
According to him, starting today, he will present the R index, the national infection index, every Tuesday.
