The telecommunications company Cellcom won the IDF's mobile phone tender in the amount of NIS 40 million for three years. The tender includes the supply of communication services and iPhone and Samsung devices, 5th generation packages, and surfing packages abroad for approximately 40 thousand permanent personnel.

The tender was carried out by the Director of Defense Procurement (Director) at the Ministry of Defense. Cellcom, under the management of incoming CEO Eli Addi, has been providing cellular services to the IDF since 2012. Last year, the company also won a tender to provide Internet to IDF bases .
The IDF's cell phone tender is considered one of the largest tenders in the country, after the Accountant General's tender in the Ministry of Finance for mobile devices for civil servants. The potential of the Accountant General's tender is up to approximately 300,000 civil servants. In April, as published in Calcalist, the media companies expressed opposition to the tender
Last year Cellcom won another tender of the security tender valued at tens of millions of shekels and for a period of 6 years. The tender includes, among other things, the provision of internet services, information and cyber security and Microsoft 365 services (Microsoft Office, for example Word). The tender also includes an upgrade of training and instruction systems in the IDF for unclassified content based on civilian applications and infrastructures.
