Firing and acquiring: Amdocs will pay $ 180 million for Irish Openet which specializes in collection systems

Amdocs, a $ 8 billion Wall Street company, is acquiring Openet, headquartered in Ireland, for $ 180 million. Openet specializes in the development of collection systems, the use of policy and its systems adapted to the 5th generation. The acquisition is expected to expand Amdocs' products and "bring" them to the cloud. Openet's revenues total about $ 70 million a year.
Amdocs recently reported a round of layoffs of hundreds of workers following the Corona crisis. Meanwhile, the company's results are reasonable. Revenue for the first quarter was $ 1.048 billion while the expectation was $ 1.044 billion. This is a growth of 2.8% compared to the corresponding quarter in 2019. Net income per share amounted to $ 1.08 per share while analysts' forecast was $ 1.06 per share.
Revenue forecast for the next quarter stands at $ 0.99-1.04 billion with earnings of $ 1 to $ 1.08 per share. The company expects total revenue of $ 4.13 billion in 2020 with earnings of $ 4.39 per share, while in 2021 - revenue of $ 4.21 billion with earnings of $ 4.74 per share.
