Hospital directors in Israel warn of their financial situation and missing manpower

Hospital directors in Israel warn of their financial situation. In a letter sent to the Ministry of Finance they say that they are in a huge budget deficit following the corona period. "Their health corporations, which are used to fund thousands of missing manpower standards, are in danger of insolvency, and the Ministry of Finance is cynically and inappropriately using their plight to snatch significant changes in the structure and conduct of the health system, causing fatal damage to public medicine." Sharp sent by Health and Finance Ministers, Yuli Edelstein and Israel Katz, ahead of discussions on the budget and the Arrangements Law.
They warn that if health corporations collapse, it could result in the dismissal of 10,000 health workers - "without which medical care in the State of Israel cannot be routinely conducted and certainly not in a national emergency." Particularly serious is the situation of independent public hospitals (such as Hadassah and Gates of Justice) that do not have a financial back from the state or a general health fund, and are on the verge of inability to pay salaries. The same things were said this week by the directors of Sha'arei Tzedek, Professor Ofer Marin, and CEO of Hadassah Professor Zeev Rothstein.
"Everyone is in distress. We are deep in the Corona incident and in fact at the moment we have no idea what budget we are working on and things are getting worse," says Professor Michael Halbertl, director of Rambam and a member of the board of directors of the Association of Hospital Managers. Of a billion shekels. "And we have not yet talked about the independent public hospitals (such as Shaare Zedek and Hadassah - RL) that I do not know how their managers sleep at night."
