Partner Group has connected the city of Eilat to its partner fiber national infrastructure, and from today thousands of residents can connect to surf speeds of up to 1,000 megabytes.
Eilat Mayor Meir Yitzhak Halevi congratulated Partner: "As a city that promotes an innovation center as a smart city, we welcome the choice of Eilat as a model city. The city of Eilat is undoubtedly because of its remoteness and isolation, it needs quality communication to improve the quality of life from education, through the medical field to diversifying the city's sources of employment. Life in the shadow of the Corona emphasized the importance of quality communication in learning and working remotely. We will do everything so that every home and educational, medical, academic and business institution will benefit from the quality infrastructure that will help us become an independent city. "
Itzik Benvenishti, CEO of Partner, said: "It is our pride for us to be the first to connect the residents of the city of Eilat to fiber - a first-rate growth engine, thanks to infrastructure that reduces gaps, eliminates distances and maximizes performance. The Corona days proved to be a resource of paramount national importance. "Benvenishi added:" I would like to thank the Ministry of Communications, led by Minister Yoaz Handel, the people of Eilat, led by Mayor Meir Yitzhak Halevi, and the partner team that is leading this effort. Who are also currently deployed throughout the country. Today, we are taking another significant step in the journey of connecting Israeli citizens to the infrastructure that will take us to the group of leading countries in the speed of Internet browsing.
Eilat's city connection project to Partner's fiber infrastructure, for city residents, businesses, educational institutions and municipal institutions, was made possible thanks to the joint work of Partner Company, Eilat Municipality and the Ministry of Communications, which have worked together in recent months to promote a significant communications infrastructure project to Eilat City.
In recent weeks buildings of the municipality and public institutions have been connected, and starting this week the connection to fiber infrastructure and the speed of up to 1,000 megabytes is also available for households in neighborhoods around the city, as well as business in shopping centers and hotel area. Over the next few weeks, Partner will continue to expand the layout throughout the city of Eilat, as well as expanding it in other areas around the country.
Advanced communications infrastructure is the basis for economic growth, and accelerating the deployment of Partner's fiber optics in Eilat is part of the return to growth in the city. Fiber optic infrastructures allow the home user to enjoy up to 1,000 megabytes of surfing, and at the city level, the infrastructure supports the implementation of Smart City applications for safer, more advanced and economical management of the city for the benefit of residents and visitors.
Partner's fiber infrastructure already reaches more than 625,000 households, which are more than 30% of the Internet-connected homes in dozens of cities across the country, including Afula, Kiryat Bialik, Haifa, Netanya, Hod Hasharon, Kfar Saba, Raanana, Ashdod , Ashkelon, Yavne, Rosh Ha'ayin, Kiryat Gat, Modi'in, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Beer Sheva, Rishon Lezion, Ness Ziona, and more, and today Eilat.
