The finance committee approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's tax benefits amounting to NIS 1 million. A short time ago, the commission confirmed that the state would pay NIS 600,000 in taxes to Netanyahu for spending his private villa in Caesarea between 2013-2017. At the same time, the Prime Minister approved a tax refund of NIS 324,000 on payments for the use of his armored office vehicle between 2009 and 2017.
Eight Knesset members voted in favor of the proposal and five voted against it. The supporters were Moshe Gaffney (Torah Judaism), Mickey Zohar, Shlomo Qari, Ofir Katz, Keren Barak, May Golan and Tali Pluskov (Likud), Vinnon Azulay (SH); Alex Kushnir (Israel House), Ahmed Tibi, Aida Toma Sliman and Antas Shahada (joint list). MK Bezalel Smutritz abstained, MK Mickey Levy just came out during the vote.
The proposal was accepted by a majority of committee members. Members of the Knesset white brush, whose 2 representatives on the committee were absent from the vote. In blue and white, they initially demanded today only voting on Netanyahu's tax deduction and not the rest of the upkeep, economic expenses of the prime minister's family, and workers for the prime minister and the alternate prime minister. At the beginning of the term, Blue and White gave up a seat on the committee and gave it to MK Shlomo Tears of the Likud.
