Posted on Jun 16, 2020 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

The Corona virus continues to spread rapidly in the education system. Within one day, from yesterday morning to Tuesday, 85 other students and teachers were infected with the virus. The data is not yet final, and later today the results of tests performed today will be obtained among other teachers and students who may be infected with the virus.
About 25% of all new infections in Israel since May 19, when the education system has returned to full routine, are students and teachers. From that date, the number of patients in the education system has increased 70 times.
The number of Corona infections in the education system reached 614 this morning - of which 145 were teachers from 95 different local authorities. Yesterday morning the number of infections was 529.
In addition, there are currently some 22,000 students and teachers in solitary confinement, and more than 170 schools and kindergartens have closed after corona cases were discovered. Next week, the matriculation exam season will begin, and at this point, due to the decision not to close high school, high school students who are infected with corona or who are in solitary confinement will not be able to take a test.
In Tel Aviv, the number of Corona patients in the education system rose to 177, of which 30 were teachers; In Jerusalem, the number of infected persons now stands at 177, of which 30 are teachers; In Beersheba, the number rose to 15; In Petah Tikva for 15; At 16th Avenue; In the Negev in the Negev to 17; Bnei Brak for 24 and Ashdod for 14.
