Deputy Director-General of health ministry Prof Itamar Grotto might be suspended for letting a billioner enter Israel without isolation

Health Minister Yuli Edelstein on Wednesday instructed his office manager, Moshe Bar Seaman Tov, to inquire with Deputy Director-General Prof. Itamar Grotto, and to check whether he had resigned from a man who had returned from abroad. This was followed by an announcement in News 12 that Grotto had allowed billionaire Teddy Sagi not to stay in isolation upon his arrival in Israel, contrary to the Ministry of Health's instructions to curb the spread of the Corona. Edelstein ordered the matter "in all the disciplinary tools" available to him, and said he expected answers from the inquiry tomorrow.
"Especially when there is a great deal of effort to explain to the public the importance of complying with the Ministry of Health's guidelines and when we call for increased enforcement, there may not be exemptions from isolation that would endanger public health," the Minister of Health said. "It is a serious violation of public confidence and a grave error of judgment - in such cases I will not be forgiving."
According to the publication, the billionaire landed in the country with his private jet last week when he returned from Cyprus. Instead of staying in solitary confinement, he came to a party at the home of Itzik Toledano, the father of Omar Adam's partner. Health ministry officials considered filing a complaint against Sagi for breach of isolation, an offense that was fined NIS 5,000, but it turned out that he had received approval from Professor Grotto. It was later learned that Guy had earlier addressed a good sign to the bar not to go into isolation - and refused.
On behalf of Teddy Sagi, he responded that he did not address the bar at any point. "The matter is completely denied," a spokesman on his behalf argued.
The party in question is the bar mitzvah of Toledano's son, held on the roof of a building in YOO Towers in Tel Aviv. The incident made headlines after neighbors complained of unusual noise and running fireworks late at night. Police officers who arrived at the scene stopped the party, and summoned Toledano for questioning. Celebrated bar mitzvahs featured famous actors and singers, including Omar Adam, Trio Ma Tzur and Lior Narkis.
The Movement for Quality Government states that "besides a serious failure of values, this is a public health risk by the direct supervisor on the issue.
