The price of gasoline increased by 0.42 NIS per liter

Posted on May 31, 2020 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

The price of gasoline increased by 42 agorot (0.42 NIS) per liter. This is according to the fuel administration calculations at the Ministry of Energy. The maximum price per liter of gasoline (octane 95, self service) should not exceed NIS 5.21, compared with NIS 4.79 per liter today. A full service charge will be 21 cents per liter (including VAT), with no change from the previous month.
The maximum price per liter of gasoline at the station in Eilat (excluding VAT) will not exceed NIS 4.46 per liter, an increase of 36 agar from the current price.
A look at the Ministry of Energy data indicates that gasoline prices are mainly attributed to a 78% rise in the price of the product in the Mediterranean basin, which is the relevant reference point for the domestic market. In addition, there was a slight decrease of about half a percent in the dollar, which contributed to a reduction in the increase. Either way, the tax rate the state charges on car owners continues to be high, and from June 74% of the liter price is actually direct and indirect taxes imposed on the public.
