Israel Post will pay National Social Security allowances using a MasterCard recharge card

Israel Post Company is launching  with the Social Security and Social Equity Ministry during which National Social Security allowances will be passed on to tens of thousands of senior citizens using a MasterCard recharge card, which will reach them at home free of charge.

The move, which has been approved by the Ministry of Communications, will allow veterans, some of whom are at risk population and currently unable to leave their homes, to receive the allowance. Ticket distribution will begin today and will continue in the coming days. It should also be noted that the post offices will be closed tomorrow and the public is requested not to arrive tomorrow. Distribution of all allowances will take place on Sunday 29/3. On that day, the post offices will be reinforced and open until 6 p.m. Allowances can also be obtained in subsequent days.
Meir Spiegeler, CEO of Social Security, said: "The Corona crisis presents us with new and unexpected challenges, and we must deal with them creatively and efficiently. The claimed card that will be handed over to veteran pension recipients through the Postal Bank is a "pre-paid" card from MasterCard. The card will arrive at clients' homes or nursing homes in a secure envelope via courier mail based on a predefined list. At the same time, customers will receive messages with a message on the subject, and upon receipt of the tickets will be invited to call the post office at 076-8871190 for verification of the details and to confirm the transfer of payment to their card. Card issuance, delivery and recharge will be done at no cost and no fees. The card allows charging up to NIS 20,000, as well as withdrawing cash at an ATM up to NIS 4,000 a day, and making purchases in all businesses in Israel that respect MasterCard cards as well as telephone and Internet transactions, which have become necessary in those days. The card is valid for five years.
