Israir, The Israeli airline will begin operating direct cargo flights from Israel to London from Tuesday. This is to cope with the dramatic drop in passenger numbers as part of the global crisis in tourism and aviation due to the spread of the Corona virus.
At the Israeli airline, following the Corona crisis, they decided to completely cancel international flights by the end of the month except for organized Skidill flights and special charter flights to Lapland.
Following the Ministry of Health's instructions, requiring Israelis returning from abroad for 14 days to return to Israel, the company was looking for a creative idea to continue operating its aircraft. - An ATR-72 professor that contains only 72 passengers. This leaves the company's four Airbus A320 aircraft inoperative at Ben Gurion Airport.
One of the ideas put forward in Israir was the operation of cargo flights, an idea that finally embroidered leather. As of today, the company will take out the flights to London on empty Airbus planes from passengers on a line that should be with 4 flights per week.
Last day, Israir became the only airline to operate domestic flights in Israel with Arkia's decision to suspend its operations until after Passover. Following a reduction in the manpower at Ben Gurion Airport and the closure of Terminal 1, Israeli flights will depart for Terminal 3 with two daily flights one morning and one in the afternoon.
