It is estimated that IDB chief executive Sha'ar Sa'ar will replace him in the role.
Ami Arel chaired Cellcom's board of directors from the time he served as CEO of Discount Investments.
In his farewell remarks, he said that in all the difficulties of the Israeli communications world, Cellcom believes he is on the right path: together with TZI and an electrical company, IBC has established an independent fiber infrastructure, implementing a comprehensive efficiency program, in which the company becomes a more efficient and lean company. , Improved the company's capital structure, concluded a labor dispute, signed a new agreement with the employees and signed a memorandum of understanding for the acquisition of Golan, and also praised Avi Gabai, saying he had extensive experience in the communications industry and called it "a real asset to Cellcom."
