"Yeynot Bitan": employees were notified they could voluntarily retire and receive the full conditions

Posted on Feb 9, 2020 by Ifi Reporter

About two weeks after the signing of the memorandum of understanding with the Klirmark Fund, which is supposed to inject about NIS half a billion into a group of "Yeynot Bitan" and to allow it a financial breathing space, Nahum Betan is promoting the streamlining process. After negotiations with the workers' committee, Mega employees were notified this morning that they could voluntarily retire and receive the full conditions as if they were fired.
"Employees who would like to terminate their work at the company will be allowed to terminate by severance agreement and receive a letter of dismissal, advance notice, account completion and release of funds as well as a long-standing grant." The statement was sent by the chairman of the workers' committee Eyal Eli. It is estimated that the company wants about 300 of the employees to retire, while on the part of the workers there are only a few dozen.
Recall last November, Pavilion announced that the company's management has begun discussions on streamlining processes in cooperation with the Histadrut. The announcement meant that some 3,300 mega-workers would be laid off or forced to retire and the conditions of some of them would be exacerbated.
As a result, a discussion was held between the parties in the Histadrut and a joint decision was taken on the initiation of a joint discussion that will focus on streamlining processes at headquarters and branches, in order to bring the network back to a growing business activity path. Among the streamlining measures that the Pavilion Wines Management has examined in recent months besides layoffs, change in closing and opening hours of branches, shifting of offices, merging of various jobs, streamlining of office work, part-time optimization, transfer of positions of contract workers to existing employees.
