Ministry of Communications intends to impose sanctions on Bezeq International and partner

Posted on Dec 16, 2019 by Ifi Reporter

Senior Vice President and Director of the Supervision and Enforcement Administration at the Ministry of Communications, Eitan Casif, announced Bezeq International's intention to impose a sanction of NIS 330,000 and Partner to intend to impose a sanction of NIS 130,000 on breach of their licenses regarding service disclosure Internet access at subscription request.
By law, a subscriber may request a communications company at any time for a complete break and the company must do so no later than the day after work after the day the message was delivered to the company.
From complaints of subscribers and supervisory actions carried out by the communications ministry's inspectors, it was found that the companies severed subscribers after extended periods of time, sometimes for several months, as stated in violation of the law.
The Ministry of Communications considers this behavior to be harsh, as it is a practice that harms subscribers and in many cases subscribers are unaware that they continue to pay the company even though they have sought to disconnect.
It is worth noting that the two companies have already been sanctioned in the past for the same violations and following the intervention of the Ministry of Communications, the companies returned funds to subscribers.
