The ride on the Israel Railroad is expanding. In the first nine months of 2019, the number of trips was 52.4 million, a 6.5 percent growth over the same period last year
Israel Railways released its third quarter results. The company's total revenues in the third quarter amounted to NIS 664 million, compared with NIS 608 million in the corresponding period last year. Passenger segment revenue in the third quarter of 2019 was NIS 569 million, a 10 percent increase over the same period last year.
Israel completed its third quarter of 2019 in operating loss (EBITDA) of NIS 2 million, and in the first nine months of 2019, Israel completed NIS 1 million in operating profit (EBITDA).
The total loss in the first nine months of 2019 was NIS 15 compared to NIS 288 in the same period last year.
The company is in talks with the state to amend the development and operation agreement to best reflect the costs incurred by it, and the subsidy that the company should receive, thereby reflecting its business results optimally and reliably.
The average daily travel volume in the third quarter of 2019 was about 268,000 trips a day, representing 9.4 percent growth over the same quarter last year. The average daily travel during peak times in the third quarter of 2019 was 280,000, compared with 256,000 in the corresponding quarter last year, an increase of 9.4 percent.
Passenger segment revenues in the reported quarter totaled NIS 569 million, compared with revenues of NIS 516 million in the corresponding period last year.
The average train accuracy in the reported quarter was 92 percent, compared with 90.5 percent in the same period last year.
In the reported quarter, Israel Railways carried about 2.2 million tons, compared with 2.1 million tons in the corresponding period last year.
Freight rail freight revenue was NIS 82 million in the reported quarter, compared to NIS 80 million in the corresponding period last year.
Cargo segment losses in the third quarter of 2019 amounted to NIS 19 million, compared with a loss of NIS 18 million in the corresponding period last year.
