Employees of the Population and Migration Authority, which are protesting long delays, are threatening to strike from Tuesday next week and prevent passage of passengers and goods at all border crossings, including at Ben-Gurion Airport
The Ministry of Finance said in response that they have been working with the Civil Service Commission and the Population Authority for several months to implement a new system of presence in the Authority. Despite the labor pains in absorbing the system, the Ministry of Finance worked to advance advances and prevent damage to workers, so that apart from a few employees, all are expected to receive a full salary on the first of July. The Finance Ministry also says that in recent weeks several attempts have been made to talk to the workers' committee and the Histadrut in order to prevent the strike, but the Histadrut has chosen to take advantage of the summer vacation and turn to the strike route while harming Israeli citizens
