CBS: from April 2018 Construction of 48,310 began within 12 months

The Central Bureau of Statistics published data indicating a possible reduction in the supply of new apartments in the near future, according to figures from April 2018 to March 2019. This was after an average increase of 1.5% in the first three quarters of 2018 (January-September).
According to CBS publications, the Tel Aviv District leads the list of new construction during the period under review, in which 24.1% of all new construction was constructed, a significant increase compared with the construction starts in the same period (April 2017 to March 2018). To 22.6% of all building starts, while the Southern District is responsible for 15.1% of all new construction during this period.
In the city of Tel Aviv (compared to the district data), construction of 3,170 apartments began in this period, an increase of 1.5% compared to the previous period, and the number of building starts in Jerusalem increased by 5% to 2,730. Yavne, Ashdod, Yavneh, Gedera, Kiryat Ono, Dimona and Giv'atayim recorded a sharp rise from 113 apartments between April 2017 and March 2018 to 990 apartments, which began to be built in the following 12 months. In the period under review and in the figures - the construction of 1,877 apartments in the city began.
On the other hand, significant declines were recorded in Haifa and Rishon LeZion (declines of more than 50%). As well as Raanana, Rehovot, Bnei Brak and Netanya.
