Siemens Mobility Railways will buy from Extal aluminum parts for train cars

Posted on Jun 19, 2019 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

Thanks to the reciprocal procurement obligation: Siemens Mobility Railways, the company agreed with Extal from Mishor Adumim to purchase millions of shekels. The German company is committed to reciprocal procurement in Israel following the winning of tenders by the Israel Railways for the supply of railroad cars, and as part of the realization of the commitment, it decided to make significant purchases from Mishor Adumim.
The talks between the two sides began at a meeting sponsored by the Industrial Cooperation Authority (ICA) of the Ministry of Economy and Industry, which held a supplier day for Siemens in May.
Extal develops and markets aluminum systems for construction based on building principles that conform to the "green" standard. The company's factories span 100,000 square meters in the Mishor Adumim industrial park, with 300 employees.
The business conditions have recently matured, and the company from Mishor Adumim will supply aluminum parts worth millions of shekels to the cars that Siemens Mobility will supply to Israel Railways. Extal is also expected to develop a new and advanced welding technology in cooperation with the German railway giant, as part of the IAA's innovation program.
The company hopes to cooperate with Siemens Mobility and the international capabilities will lead to connections with other leading companies, and strive to continue to integrate into the local railway industry in Israel, which is developing along with the significant infrastructure investment of the country in this field.
Tzahi Golan, CEO of Siemens Israel Mobiliti: "In view of the many projects expected in Israel, Siemens is pleased to continue to expand its cooperation with local suppliers, while introducing international standards from the world of railways."
