The government is considering the resumption of internal flights to Eilat

Posted on Jun 16, 2019 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

Although the activity at the old airport in the heart of the city of Eilat ceased a few months ago, the infrastructure still exists, and its re-training does not require a large investment. In the first stage, the activity of the old airport in Eilat will be renewed in one year. This will serve all internal flights to and from Eilat, and at Ramon International Airport there will be international activity.
A few months after the Ramon Airport was inaugurated in Timna, as a field that was supposed to coordinate both domestic flights and international flights, the government is considering the resumption of internal flights to Eilat. This is in response to the growing protest by the Eilat municipality and other parties against the planned closure of Sde Dov, which is scheduled to take place in two weeks' time, on July 1. Sources with whom we spoke made it clear that this is not yet a final decision, but it is also a leading alternative.
