Finance Ministry Director-General: he Budget Division has managed "tailor-made" tenders

Posted on Jun 11, 2019 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

Finance Ministry Director-General Shai Babad threatens to report to the Civil Service Commission that the Budget Division has managed "tailor-made" tenders for the benefit of the department. The threat was heard against the background of the desire of BABAD to be involved in the process of appointing senior officials in the division, which enjoys managerial independence.

The budget department claimed that it was never acceptable to coordinate with the director-general the exchange of positions between the department's deputy and the tenders, according to the Civil Service Commission.

Several years ago, the Budget Division changed the staffing procedures following a State Comptroller's report that found flaws in the staffing of senior positions in the division.
