Klil Honors Innovation in Architecture at Annual Architects Association Conference

At the annual conference of the Association of Architects in Israel, the “Architecture of the Future” innovation prize was awarded to emerging student talent as well as established architectural firms, recognizing excellence in forward-looking design and creative thinking.

The first-place winners included architecture student David Kesselman (TERA) and the firm Mizlitz Kasef Reutman Architects.

“ARCHITECTS ARE POETS OF PLANS”

During the ceremony, Tzuri Daboosh, Chairman of Klil, praised architects for their role in shaping modern environments.

“Architects are poets of plans, creators of reality, and they carry a great privilege,” Daboosh said.

He emphasized Klil’s long-standing commitment to innovation in Israel’s construction and design industries, particularly in the field of aluminum systems and advanced window solutions.

INNOVATION IN DESIGN AND MATERIALS

Klil, a leading Israeli company in aluminum and window systems, presented the awards as part of its broader strategy to promote innovation in architecture and construction.

The company recently launched its new ZERO LINE design series, which focuses on minimalist, modern window systems aligned with global architectural trends.

ECOLOGICAL PROJECT UNVEILED

During the event, Daboosh also introduced an environmental initiative developed by Klil: the “Butterfly Lake Park,” located at the company’s industrial site.

The ecological park is described as the first of its kind globally, designed as an open natural habitat rather than a closed greenhouse, enabling local butterfly populations to thrive and reproduce.

The park spans approximately three dunams and was developed with an estimated investment of 3 million shekels.

It includes natural biotopes, around 180 species of shrubs and perennial and seasonal plants, wildflower areas, and herb gardens — all selected to attract and support up to 62 butterfly species native to the region.

Company officials say the project reflects a broader commitment to sustainability, biodiversity preservation, and integrating ecological thinking into industrial environments.

RECOGNIZING THE NEXT GENERATION

The awards ceremony highlighted both established architectural excellence and emerging young talent, reinforcing the role of innovation in shaping Israel’s future built environment.

Organizers said the initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between industry, design, and academia while encouraging new approaches to sustainable and forward-thinking architecture.
