Posted on Jan 17, 2024 by Ifi Reporter
Wizz Air, a prominent low-cost airline, revealed its plans to resume operations in Israel starting March 1, 2024. The announcement comes amidst a wave of airlines resuming services in the region, indicating a positive turn for Israel's aviation sector.
Wizz Air is set to connect Israel to six key destinations with a robust schedule of three weekly flights for each route. The highlighted destinations include London, Rome, Krakow, Budapest, Bucharest, and Sofia. This move positions Wizz Air as a significant player in Israel's airline market, especially considering its previous standing as the second-largest airline in the country in 2022, following El Al.
The return of Wizz Air follows a series of similar announcements from various airlines this month, showcasing a collective effort to restore air travel connections to and from Israel. Notable carriers such as Blue Bird, TUS Airways, Lot, Air Seychelles, the Lufthansa Group (Swiss and Austrian), Tarum, Aegean, and Air France have all declared their intention to resume operations.
