Electra Wins NIS 212 Million Contract to Revolutionize Waste Collection in Yavne Mizrah Shurk Complex

Electra, a prominent member of the Elco group under the leadership of Itamar Deutscher, has secured a NIS 212 million contract to implement a state-of-the-art pneumatic waste collection system. This innovative project aims to transform waste removal for the Yavne Mizrah Shurk complex, encompassing approximately 12.5 thousand apartments, housing units, and over 440 thousand square meters of commercial and employment space.

Unlike the conventional method of waste collection that relies on garbage trucks and manual handling, the pneumatic system will employ an intricate network of underground pipes, with operations managed from a centralized control center, eliminating human contact with waste. This groundbreaking technology replaces traditional trash rooms and street-level bins, representing a significant leap forward in waste management.

The construction phase is expected to span approximately 40 months from the receipt of the order to commence work, followed by a six-year operation and maintenance period, extendable by the municipality. Electra's victory in this tender comes on the heels of three other successful projects in 2021-2022, covering the North West district of Tel Aviv, Ramat Hasharon, and Yehud-Monoson.

Itamar Deutscher, at the helm of Electra, expressed the company's commitment to viewing this sector as a catalyst for growth.
