Tenable has officially announced the purchase of the Israeli cloud protection company Ermetic for $265 million, which includes $240 million in cash and $25 million in shares. The closing is expected in the fourth quarter of this year. The company will integrate Armatic's technology into its platform during which it will focus on cloud protection.
Armatic was founded in 2019 and has raised $97 million so far. It developed an information security system to protect cloud infrastructures. The tools developed by Armetic identify and prevent security threats within cloud environments. It was founded by four serial entrepreneurs: Shay Morg, Sivan Kriegsman, Michael Dolinsky and Eric Gomanovsky. Its investors include the Gillot Capital, Excel, Komra and Target Global funds.
The buyer Tenable - which specializes in identifying weaknesses in various components in networks - acquired in 2019 the start-up Indegy, which deals with the protection of industrial infrastructures, for $78 million in cash in addition to a stock component.
