Bank Leumi Introduces English Language Option in Mobile App Pioneering Accessibility for Non-Hebrew Speakers

Posted on Aug 17, 2023 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

Bank Leumi, one of Israel's leading financial institutions, is set to launch an English-language version of its mobile banking application. The new version, scheduled to be released at the start of the upcoming week, will allow Leumi customers to seamlessly switch the app's language setting from Arabic to English. This strategic initiative positions Bank Leumi as the first Israeli bank to cater to customers who are not proficient in Hebrew.

With the English language option, Leumi's diverse customer base will now have the ability to access comprehensive account information and perform a wide array of banking operations through the app in English. Some of the key features include viewing current account status, credit card transactions, foreign exchange account details, and conducting various financial activities like fund transfers, foreign currency transactions, ZAHB transfers, and credit card requests.

Bank Leumi's commitment to providing a global-level service experience extends beyond this new language offering. The bank is actively working on expanding the range of actions and services available in the English version of the application, ensuring a comprehensive and user-friendly interface for its international customers.

Additionally, Bank Leumi is gearing up to launch an English-language version of its business customer website. The enhanced website is designed to offer unparalleled user experience and functionality, surpassing the capabilities of other business-oriented banking sites in the industry.

This move towards international accessibility is part of Bank Leumi's broader service transformation strategy. The English-language app joins a lineup of innovative services introduced last year, including the innovative "Banker in ZOOM" service, enabling customers to engage with personal bankers via Zoom meetings for various banking operations, eliminating the need for in-branch visits. The bank also extended its service center operating hours, now available from 6:30 am to 11:00 pm, and pledged to address every customer request within a single day.

Furthermore, Bank Leumi has established a dedicated "Chief Executive Patrol" team, which operates under the direct supervision of the bank's CEO. This team is dedicated to swiftly resolving customer inquiries that remain unaddressed beyond the stipulated one-day response time.

With these strategic moves, Bank Leumi is clearly setting a precedent for customer-centric banking services in Israel. The introduction of an English-language app and a revamped business website underscores the bank's commitment to seamless, accessible, and efficient banking experiences for its diverse clientele.
