Mobileye has published impressive financial reports showcasing significant progress in various sectors

Posted on Jul 31, 2023 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

Mobileye, the leading autonomous driving technology company, has recently published impressive financial reports showcasing significant progress in various sectors. What's particularly noteworthy in these reports are the company's successful contacts with major car manufacturers for integrating its advanced systems into their vehicles. This development has been highly praised by industry analysts and investors.

The most remarkable achievement for Mobileye is the substantial increase in the number of car manufacturers that have entered advanced contacts to implement SuperVision products. The company reported a rise from 6 to 9 major car manufacturers that have completed the validation of the autonomous system's capabilities and are now beginning its implementation in their vehicle models.

Notably, Mobileye is currently competing for 9 autonomous system tenders, facing direct competition with internal developments of the manufacturers themselves. These nine car manufacturers represent a significant portion, approximately 30%, of the annual global vehicle production volume, accounting for about 23 million vehicles.

One of Mobileye's existing customers, Volkswagen (VW), has also made significant announcements. VW stated that, based on Mobileye's fully autonomous systems, specifically the Drive system, they plan to release fully autonomous transportation services using the ID Buzz model by 2025.

In addition to these positive developments, Mobileye is expecting a strong growth rate of approximately 16% in 2023. The company has managed to control its operating expenses more effectively than previously anticipated, with the increase in expenses now projected to be only 22-23%, compared to the earlier prediction of about 30%.

Moreover, Mobileye has addressed some challenges regarding its SuperVision deliveries. The global car market is beginning to stabilize, and customers have ceased postponing the receipt of SuperVision systems they ordered earlier in the year. The company expects volatility in SuperVision deliveries to diminish in 2024 once all five new models with the system installed, including two in the European market, are launched.

Responding to Mobileye's impressive reports, Oppenheimer, a prominent investment house, highlighted Tesla's recent announcement. Tesla is currently in initial discussions with a significant car manufacturer, possibly Ford, regarding the adaptation of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system in their vehicles. Oppenheimer predicts that this move by Tesla and the expansion of Chinese car manufacturers into the European market will significantly increase the demand for Mobileye's products. As a result, Oppenheimer maintains an "Outperform" recommendation on Mobileye's stock, setting a target price of $60.

The future looks promising for Mobileye as it continues to strengthen its partnerships with major car manufacturers and witness growing demand for its advanced autonomous driving technologies.
