"Labor Market Report in Israel for 2022": The rate of jobs in high-tech dropped to the lowest level since 2019

Posted on Jul 5, 2023 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

The Ministry of Labor publishes the "Labor Market Report in Israel for 2022" from which some interesting data emerges regarding the distribution between the various industries, wages, education between the various sectors of Israeli society, and more.
However, with all due respect to the other points of interest in the report, what catches the eye is what is apparently not in it: a comparative examination against the data of the first half of 2023. According to the Ministry of Labor, the rate of jobs in high-tech dropped to the lowest level since 2019 - with or without regard to the legislation The law that stirs up the industry.
• The labor market in 2022 was at full employment, the employment rate in the prime working ages is higher than it was before the corona crisis and higher by historical comparison.
• In the last decade, Arab and Haredi employment rates are on the rise. Although the employment rate of Arab women is still very low, there is an increasing trend in almost all ages, accompanied by an increasing trend in education - the rate of young Arab female academics has doubled within a decade.
• The rate of vacancies in 2022 was very high, and at the beginning of the year reached a peak of 5%. Since the last third of the year, the vacancy rate has been on a downward trend, which at this stage does not translate into an increase in unemployment or a decrease in the employment rate.
