The Bank of Israel has approved the appointment of Avi Levy as CEO of Discount Bank. Levy will start his position in about two weeks, on July 9.
At the beginning of June, the Board of Directors of Discount Bank, chaired by Shaul Kobrinsky and in accordance with the recommendation of the search committee, decided on the appointment of Avi Levy as the CEO of the Discount Group. This was after Uri Levin, the current CEO, decided to end his position and transfer to the management of the Tidhar Real Estate Group.
Levy (56) serves today as the head of the banking division at Discount, since January 2022. Levy joined Discount in 2011 and has since held various positions in the bank's management. In his current position, he is responsible, among other things, for managing the array of branches, mortgages, private banking and the service center. Before that, he was senior vice president and head of the risk management division, and head of the customer assets division.
Before joining Discount, Levy held a variety of senior positions at Bank Hapoalim, including managing UK workers and senior positions in the business division. Levy has a master's degree in business administration (MBA) with a specialization in finance from Bar Ilan University, and a bachelor's degree in economics from Tel Aviv University.
