Singapore Airlines is the best airline in the world - El Al failed to make the list of the 100 best companies

Posted on Jun 21, 2023 by Ifi Reporter

Singapore Airlines was chosen as the best airline in the world, dethroning Qatar Airways from the top, according to the annual ranking published by Skytrax. The ranking in which 325 companies from around the world participate is based on a survey conducted among approximately 20 million passengers. The Israeli company El Al failed to make the list of the 100 best companies in the world.
This is the fifth time that Singapore has won the title. "It is an incredible achievement for Singapore Airlines to win the title of the best airline in the world in 2023," said Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax. The company achieved this feat thanks to high scores it collected in most categories, including best first class and best airline in Asia. "We We are grateful to our customers for their continued loyalty and affection towards Singapore Airlines. During the pandemic, their support and encouragement gave us the strength and determination to overcome unprecedented challenges," said the company's CEO Gu Chun Fong at a ceremony held during the Paris Air Show.
Qatar Airways had to settle for second place this year, but it can take solace in other titles it has won, including the best business class in the world, and the best airline in the Middle East. After it, the Japanese airline All Nippon was ranked third, and it was also crowned the cleanest company. Emirates and Japan Airlines were ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. Japan Airlines also has the best economy class. The rest of the top ten includes Turkish Airlines, Air France, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air and Korean Air.
Delta Airlines, ranked 20th, was the only American company in the top 20. Kuwait Airways was named the most improving airline. This year another category was launched - the most family-friendly company and the title was awarded to Air Canada. The reasons for choosing it include meals tailored to children, toy and activity packages, tailored entertainment and a seating policy especially for families.
