Disney Home stores in Israel will stop operating in Israel

Posted on Jun 13, 2023 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

A year and a half after it opened with fanfare the Disney Home stores in Israel, a concept chain of furniture and home products, in cooperation with Disney International, it seems that the chain has reached the end of its journey, at least as far as the physical stores are concerned, and now it will focus on pop-up stores and online sales.
The Extra Retail Group, the chain's owner, is the retail arm of Alon Raboa Blue, owned by Moti Ben Moshe. It owns the TLV mall and the Verdinon, Naaman, Home Style, Aphrodite and Bonita de Mas brands.
The first store opened in the TLV mall in December 2021. It is an Israeli invention and not a global Disney store, although the store and the products were designed with the approval and cooperation of Disney. The chain offered special editions of furniture, accessories and products developed and designed by Extra Retail's in-house studio - Tutto Arte, inspired by the iconic characters - Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. In addition to the store in the TLV Mall in Tel Aviv, the brand's stores were opened in the Grand Mall in Haifa, Azrieli Mall in Givatayim and Cinema City In Rishon Lezion, however, it apparently turned out that the products were too expensive and the product line was not successful among Israelis.
Ronan, a customer who visited the branch in Tel Aviv yesterday, told "Mammon" and Ynet: "There is a clearance sale there and everything is at floor prices. The most expensive product cost NIS 50. When I asked the saleswoman in amazement about the low prices, she replied that the prices were expensive too much for the Israeli consumer's pocket and closing the stores."
The Extra Retail Group stated that this is a change in the operating mode of the chain, and this in light of market research and the preferences of the brand's audience. "In the coming months, the activity will focus mainly on pop-up stores, on social networks and on a dedicated website for online sales."
