Israeli start-up Percepto announced the raising of about 17 million dollars

Posted on Jun 13, 2023 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

The Israeli start-up Percepto, which develops autonomous drones and software for the management and analysis of visual information, announced the raising of about 17 million dollars in debt from the recently completed Kraus Capital fund. In addition, Percepto announced a fundraising for shares (equity) in the amount of 50 million dollars that it completed at the end of last year, but so far it has not been reported by it.
Percepto was founded in 2014 by Dor Abuchatzira (CEO), Sagi Blunder (Technology VP), Raviv Raz (Engineering VP) and Ariel Avitan (Commercial VP). Percepto currently employs approximately 130 people after carrying out Two rounds of layoffs in the past year. At the beginning of May, the startup laid off about 30 employees, and before that, in August 2022, 21 employees were laid off.
"The market has undergone a strategic change and is looking at efficiency indicators instead of growth, so we are committed to doing more with less. The meaning of the cuts is that we are progressing more slowly in research and development and need to be more focused on sales with less personnel,' explains Abu Hachira.
Percepto's focus is on the energy and gas market in the US and Europe. Percepto was born as a company that developed autonomous drones for infrastructure monitoring as well as software for analyzing the visual information coming from the drones. In 2019, the company made a change and began offering the software separately from the drones, and today there are many customers who only purchase it. The software allows the analysis of visual information from any drone, from Percepto or another company, as well as from stationary cameras placed on the sites of energy and gas companies and even information from satellites to identify faults and leaks.
