Chairman of the Histadrut Arnon Bar David authorized the Histadrut of State Employees to declare a labor dispute.
The reason for this step is the dismantling and splitting of units and divisions in the government ministries, as part of the coalition agreements signed between the Likud and the coalition parties. This, unilaterally and without coordination with the workers. This means that the Histadrut Government offices will be able to strike starting in two weeks.
A source in the Histadrut says that they hope to reach an understanding before they are forced to declare a strike. Another source added: "The new government is dismantling offices and moving units from one place to another without discussing and thinking about the professional implications and the impact of these measures on the employees."
As part of the decommissioning of the government ministries in order to serve political and personal needs, the agreement between the Likud and the Shas states that three central and high-budget units from the labor branch of the Ministry of Economy will be transferred to the Ministry of Welfare and Social Security, which will be headed by Yaakov Margi of the Shas: Senior Division for Professional Training and Force Development A person; The Government Institute for Technological Training (MHT); and the Population Employment Administration, which deals with increasing the rate and quality of employment for populations such as ultra-Orthodox, Arabs and adults.
