About a hundred Israeli importers flew.to Istanbul for meetings with about 400 Turkish exporters

The Association of Chambers of Commerce, in cooperation with the Turkish Exporters Association TIM, organized a delegation of about a hundred Israeli importers to Istanbul for a series of BTB meetings with about 400 Turkish exporters in order to open new import channels to Israel that will contribute, among other things, to lower the cost of living. Turkey is the fifth largest trading partner for the State of Israel.
The delegation will stay in Istanbul on December 5-7. Tuesday, December 6, will be devoted entirely to meetings with Turkish export companies for the benefit of importing Turkish products to Israel. Among other things, the Israeli importers will meet with representatives of food companies, cosmetics, construction materials, toys, baby products, metals and irons, furniture, textiles, medical equipment, chemicals, plastics, household tools, electronics and auto parts. Partners in accompanying the delegation are representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economy and Customs who understand the importance of strengthening the relationship between the countries and not only from the economic aspect.

Uriel Lin, President of the Association of Chambers of Commerce: "We are at the beginning of a new era in our relations with Turkey. Increasing imports from Turkey will save a fortune in sea transportation expenses and the cost of products and will strengthen the ability to fight the cost of living. Within a year, mutual trade with Turkey is expected to be on the order of 10 billion dollars per year. Upgrading trade relations with Turkey has a special importance beyond the economic sphere."
Turkey is the partner for the import of goods (exports from Turkey to Israel), the fifth largest for Israel (only China, the USA, Switzerland and Germany can be found before it). The total exports from Turkey to Israel in 2021 amounted to 8.4 billion dollars. The main types of goods imported to Israel (8% of total the goods and above) are textiles, steel and iron, building materials, stones and cement, rubber and plastic, machinery and electrical and mechanical mechanization. Turkey exports 2.5% of the total goods imported to Israel. Turkey is the seventh largest exporter of goods (exports from Israel to Turkey) to Israel, receiving 2.3% of the total The goods that Israel exports to the world.
