Posted on Dec 4, 2022 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

The average salary for Israeli workers in September was NIS 12,214, an increase of 4.7% compared to the same month last year, according to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics published on Thursday. However, the salary at constant prices (the average salary minus inflation) remained almost the same as in September 2021 and stood at NIS 10,831.
The average salary for a salaried position at current prices in September was similar to the average salary in July and August, and the number of salaried jobs for Israeli workers was 3.902 million, an increase of 7.3% compared to September 2021 (3.638 million) and a decrease of 0.8% compared to August 2022 (3.935 million).
In the high-tech sector, the average salary for an employee position in September 2022 was NIS 27,511, an increase of 5.1% compared to September 2021 but a slight decrease compared to August 2022 when it was NIS 27,880. The number of salaried jobs in the high-tech sector was 388.3 thousand, an increase of 9.9% compared to September 2021 (353.3 thousand) and a 0.4% increase compared to the month of August 2022 (386.8 thousand) - this is apparently contrary to the trend observed in high-tech in recent months of layoffs and slowdown.
According to the CBS, salaried jobs in the high-tech sector accounted for 10% of all salaried jobs in the economy compared to 9.8% in August 2022.
