October: The funds and training funds conclude a positive month

After in September the returns in the provident funds reached a low point, with decreases of about 4% - also in the general routes; In October, the funds and training funds conclude a positive month. According to Meitav's initial estimates, the average returns in the general routes amounted to 1.5% in October, and the returns in the equity routes will average 4.2%.
In the index route the average return is negative - minus 0.1% - and in the shekel route the average return in October is zero. It is estimated that in the pension the average returns in October will range from 1.1% in the track for the 60+ year olds, to 1.9% in the track for the 50-60 year olds and 2.3% in the track up to the age of 50.
October is the third month this year - after March and July - in which the funds show positive returns. The main contribution to the returns this month was provided by the increases in the stock markets abroad. Since the beginning of the year, the returns have been negative and amount to minus 7.7% on average in the general routes, and a negative return of minus 14.3% on average in the equity routes.
Since the beginning of the year, the index and shekel routes have produced an average negative return of minus 4.4% and minus 6.3%, respectively. In pensions, the return since the beginning of the year ranges from a negative return of minus 3.1% in tracks for 60 plus, to 3.9% in tracks for 50-60 and a negative return of minus 5.4% in tracks for 50 and under.
Investment managers explain that the increases in October do not indicate a trend, and that the market will continue to be volatile in the coming months.
