Corona: All passengers returning to Israel will no longer have to present the "Declaration of Travelers

Posted on Oct 11, 2022 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

Good news for those flying abroad: starting tonight, all passengers returning to Israel will no longer have to present the "Declaration of Travelers Entering Israel" form, as has been customary since the outbreak of the Coronavirus. This, in fact, has canceled the last regulation for travelers abroad related to the Coronavirus.
The announcement issued by the Minister of Health reads: "Starting at midnight on the next day, the use of the form for travelers entering the State of Israel will be discontinued. Professional officials at the Ministry of Health and the Director General of the Ministry concluded that the form for travelers entering the State of Israel will be canceled.
"The decision to discontinue the use of the online form was made in light of the fact that the relevant data provided by the form began to be received from other sources and also to make it easier for the public of travelers entering the State of Israel. Professional officials concluded that the use of the incoming traveler form will be resumed if necessary."
The use of the declaration form for an incoming traveler to Israel has raised quite a few questions to this day, since all the corona restrictions for flying abroad (red countries, exit form, tests, masks, etc.) have been canceled a long time ago and only it remains. More than once, passengers who did not know about its existence, since And all the other instructions were no longer used, found themselves at check-in counters abroad struggling to fill it and wasting a lot of time.
Alona Lazarowitz, a tourism expert and director of the group abroad here on Facebook, hypothesized that "the reason is that the Ministry of Health will have records and surveillance for travelers arriving from abroad, and if corona cases are discovered for returnees, it will be possible to assign them to a certain country and issue a warning if necessary. It was important for the country to monitor On the returnees from which country, on which flight and at what time they were in the field, if something happens or will happen, everything will still be under control and control."
