Signed in Tel-Aviv: A free trade agreement between Israel and Guatemala

In a solemn ceremony held in Tel Aviv today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, Mario Adolfo Bucaro Flores, and the Minister of Economy and Industry, Champion (res.) Orna Barbibai signed a free trade agreement between Israel and Guatemala.
The Minister of Economy and Industry, Champion (acting) Orna Barbibai: "A free trade agreement with Guatemala removes trade barriers and allows Israeli companies to expand their activities in global markets. I welcome the good cooperation between the two economies, which helps to increase Israeli exports, to strengthen Israel's position in the Latin American countries and the impact on the cost of living"
After the completion of the negotiations between the countries in May in Jerusalem, a free trade agreement between Israel and Guatemala was signed today (09/08/2022) in a solemn ceremony. The agreement to establish a free trade area focuses on trade in goods and includes mutual tariff reductions with the aim of expanding bilateral trade. Also, the agreement includes aspects concerning the customs authorities as well as areas for future cooperation between the countries.
The negotiations and the agreement, signed by the Minister of Economy and Industry, Champion (ret.) Orna Barbibay, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, Mr. Mario Adolfo Búcaro Flores, were led by the Foreign Trade Administration of the Ministry of Economy and Industry in cooperation with representatives of the Customs Administration , the Ministries of Agriculture, Justice, and Foreign Affairs, and it carries relief for Israeli consumers and exporters. The mutual benefits on products that were agreed upon between the parties, include, among other things, tariff reductions on industrial products as well as benefits on food and agricultural products.
