The mess at Yunet Credit: After a restraining order was issued for Tzachi Ezer, Shlomo Isaac and Shai Panso, owners of the non-bank credit company, former Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, who recently resigned as chairman of the company in the shadow of the affair, was questioned last night ( Monday) In a warning for about two hours at the offices of the Securities Authority, headed by Anat Guetta - appointed by Kahlon himself.
The authority issued the order to the company's owners last week, among other things, on suspicion of reporting offenses, use of inside information, forgery, receiving anything fraudulently under aggravated circumstances and money laundering offenses. Yitzhak Eviatar, who according to the suspicion actually managed the company's branch in Nazareth, from which checks in excess of NIS 10 million "disappeared", was also included in the authority's request.
About three weeks ago, the company announced the dismissal of former CEO Ezer for "breach of trust in the company," she claims.
The Authority further claimed that "according to the suspicion, those involved acted fraudulently while concealing their activities from the company and the investing public and caused misleading details in the company's reports, including regarding assets it allegedly owns and material transactions made by the company illegally and without the necessary permits. This was done, among other things, by falsely registering the company's documents and forging documents.
"In addition, according to the suspicion, during the relevant period, Ezer made transactions in the company's shares through his private account and together with Isaac and also paid into the account of the private company in which they control, using inside information held at the time regarding the alleged suspicious conduct." .
Advocate Nati Simchoni, representing Kahlon, responded: "Mr. Moshe Kahlon welcomes the investigation and cooperates fully with law enforcement. We are confident that in its conclusion, the only conclusion will be that it did not adhere to any flaw in its integrity. No one can disagree with Mr. Kahlon's honesty and purity. His whole life is sacred to the whole and he is a man of public action. Thus, his conduct as chairman of the Yonet company was also for the public and with the good of the whole before his eyes. "
Meanwhile, the PA concluded that "due to the seriousness of the offenses and the severe sanction imposed for them, there is in this case a real fear of disrupting investigative proceedings as well as a real fear of escaping the verdict. Therefore we will ask the court to release the suspects under restrictive conditions." The request was approved as stated and all suspects were banned from leaving the country for 180 days, along with guarantees that they must deposit in the amount of NIS 650,000 to NIS 1.35 million each.
At the same time, following the company's reports in recent weeks of "financial irregularities" and in the shadow of the authority's suspicions, Yonet reported to the stock exchange that "tests performed at the request of the company's independent directors show that "Private Yonet (a private company owned by Panso, Isaac Wazer - Dr.) about NIS 50 million under the guise of loan transactions to third parties, which, apparently, were not approved as required by law and were not reported to the public."
In the shadow of the affair, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange announced the suspension of trading in the company's stock and even its withdrawal from the indices Tel Aviv Finance, Tel Aviv Insurance and Financial Services, Tel Aviv AllShare and Tel Aviv Growth. Yonet Credit itself did not respond to a request for comment.
