El Al will stop flying to three destinations by the end of October: Toronto, Warsaw and Brussels

El Al will stop flying to three destinations by the end of October 2022: Toronto, Warsaw and Brussels. On the line to Toronto there were 3-2 flights a week on a Dreamliner (Boeing 787), and the flights to Warsaw and Brussels also departed 3-2 times a week on Boeing 737s. In addition, El Al is expected to announce new airlines and lines that were in the past and are now being renewed, such as Tokyo and Hong Kong.
The canceled lines did not justify themselves commercially, and their cancellation was made as part of the efficiency of the company's network of lines, in view of the shortage of planes and pilots, amid a labor dispute with them. The company, which is managed by Dina Ben Tal Genensia, is currently negotiating with the company's pilots' committee headed by Ran Alkabetz on a solution to the labor dispute, as directed by the Labor Court.
The conflict erupted over the pilots' demand to restore their salaries, which were cut by 31%, and the ESL fees they received, which were cut by 39%, as part of an efficiency agreement made by the Histadrut, headed by Arnon Ben-David, in July 2020. The pilots claim that cuts Wages were imposed on them indefinitely and without taking into account the substantial change in demand for flights.
In addition, against the background of the crisis of trust that arose between EL AL pilots and the Histadrut, the pilots demand that the pilots' committee be recognized as a self-representing body, and not subject to Histadrut instructions, like the other three employee sectors in the company. Although the Labor Court ordered both sides to maintain industrial silence, four flights were canceled today (Thursday): to Warsaw, to Zurich, to Rome and to Frankfurt.
