Elementor, which develops an open source website building platform, is laying off dozens of employees. It is estimated that the number of layoffs is about 50-60 employees, most of them from the company's marketing department. No developers were fired. Elementor currently employs about 400 people. The company was founded by Yoni Luxenberg, who serves as CEO, and Ariel Klickstein.
Elementor was founded in 2016 and has become a platform for building websites in WordPress that operates about 7.4% of the websites in the world. The company recently acquired Strategic founded in 2018 by Miriam Schwab and Josh Lawrence. Last year, Elementor raised an additional $ 50 million from the Lightspeed Fund.
Luxenberg said: "Today we have made a difficult decision to part with some talented and good colleagues.
