HOT is expanding its discounted brand NEXT and offers packages NIS 59 per month for TV only

Posted on May 17, 2022 by Ifi Reporter

HOT is expanding its discounted brand NEXT and offers packages under it, some of which are new, including TV, Internet and mobile services, in preparation for the start of Disney +'s operations in Israel and other content streaming services. This, in parallel with its efforts to thwart the streaming project of REG and Keshet-FREE TV, argues that its legality is in doubt.
NEXT is the oldest streaming brand among the big companies and it competes with yes Sting TV, Cellcom TV, and Partner TV, all of which broadcast over the Internet. It also competes with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV and will also compete with HBO and other streaming services that will likely change the way consumers in Israel currently consume television.
According to HOT, the brand will be completely digital, and the connection and disconnection from the service will be done via the Internet. Also, according to HOT, it will provide chat service 24 hours a day - seven days a week.
Prices: NIS 59 per month for TV only for a package that includes 14 channels (instead of 200) with most of the original content and some of the purchased content. There will also be a VOD library. An examination shows that these are channels: 12, 13, 11, Knesset Channel, Channel 33, Channel 9, Educational, Nickelodeon, Viva, National Geographic, Sports 5, Hot Cinema and Hot Entertainment. At the same time, after a year, the price will jump by 34% to NIS 79 per month.
There is no significant change here because so far Next has been sold to consumers at NIS 29 per month for a narrow package or at NIS 55 per month (first free month) for three months and then at NIS 89 per month.
The innovation is mainly in a package that includes a TV and Internet service (including a HOTnet provider) on a fiber infrastructure up to 300 MB, or on cables up to 200 MB. It will be priced at a relatively low market price of NIS 99 per month, for one year. A year later, the price will increase by 20% to NIS 119. That is, it is about lowering the price and adding an Internet service on top of fiber optics to the package, although the TV package is still poor in content here.
So far, Next has offered a combined package with cable internet up to 100 megabytes at NIS 99 per month for the first two months and then at NIS 169 per month per year. A router will be priced at NIS 16.90 per month. Installation cost: NIS 69.
Of course additions and upgrades will cost more money. Those who want to upgrade the surfing speed in the new package to 1 GB of fiber (the company has 800,000 fiber customers) will add NIS 25 per month, which means that he will pay NIS 124 per month per year and then NIS 144 per year on the Internet and television. Upgrading to 600 MB will cost NIS 15 more: NIS 114 per month after year, NIS 134 per month. A new customer in Fiber will also pay a one-time fee of NIS 49 for connection to the infrastructure.
A customer who wants to enrich the content a bit will also pay more: the NEXT MORE package will include about 40 channels from various fields, including sports and children - an additional NIS 20 per month for a year. That is, you will pay between NIS 119 per month and NIS 144 per month per year and after one year: NIS 164-139 per month.
To all these costs you can add a router and streamer rental at a cost of NIS 19.9 per month for a year, for each. It is not mandatory if you have your own router or a smart TV that does not require a streamer. This addition will increase the price of the packages to NIS 163.9-138.9 per month and after a year to NIS 183.9-158.9 per month if you take only a router or a streamer from the company. If you take both a router and a streamer, the package will increase to NIS 183.9-158.9 per month and after a year to NIS 203.9-178.9 per month.
Those who want to add extra packages like Charlton will pay another NIS 81.90 per month, for Sport 5 they will pay NIS 51.90 and for a package of Turkish dramas it will cost about NIS 30.
The company will also offer a HOT Mobile mobile package under the Next brand, which includes 3,000 minutes of calls and SMS and 250 gigabytes at NIS 29.9 per month for two years and after two years NIS 49.9 per month. With two or more subscribers, the package will be reduced to NIS 24.9 per month for two years and after two years will be NIS 44.9 per month. The company for some reason charges a connection fee of NIS 19.90. There are cheaper cellular packages on the market, but with fewer gigs.
"Customers will be able to independently assemble the communication package that suits them, with a choice between content packages at different scales, Internet and mobile, at different pricing levels, and all in digital," the company said. "Also, the platform's user interface design has been revamped with features like Catch Up, Netflix button and Bing viewing. The service will be accessible on most smart TVs."
