The Israeli start-up Optibus, which has developed an AI-based cloud platform for the planning and operation of public transportation, is acquiring the American company Trillium in a deal worth a few million dollars. The acquired company is engaged in the field of information and data management for passengers in public transportation. Trillium will continue to operate as a company from Optives and its 25 employees will join Optives as employees from the new office to be established in Portland. Optives has developed a cloud platform for the planning and operation of public transportation, which is currently used by shuttle operators, cities and institutions.
Trillium, established in 2007, helps more than 350 government agencies and government agencies manage the information of the public transportation systems they operate, provide passengers with information on line operations and ensure that passengers receive up-to-date information on changes in real time. With the acquisition of Trillium, Optibas' platform will become an end-to-end solution. Now, Optibs will not only design and operate the public transportation networks, but will also make the information about the changes accessible to the passenger at the end.

The company currently operates in more than 1,000 major cities around the world, including New York, Los Angeles, London, Melbourne, Brasilia, Hong Kong and Singapore. The company also works with the leading public transportation companies in Israel, including Egged, Dan, Kavim and Metropolis.
So far, Optibus has raised $ 160 million. It employs about 300 people around the world, with the company headquartered in Tel Aviv and concentrating most of its research and development activities.
