The Ministry of Finance, the Histadrut and the local government center and other employers in the public sector have signed a special collective agreement for educational psychologists. According to the agreement, approximately 3,700 educational psychologists will receive a one-time grant for the work of the eligibility and characterization committees under the Special Education Law, along with dealing with additional exceptional events in 2021, in the amount of up to NIS 4,500 for full-time employees.
It was also agreed that in 2022, psychologists will be granted a grant of up to NIS 1,700 per full-time employee, which will be given to employees who increase their employment rate from February to June (inclusive). The parties also agreed to enter into negotiations on changes in the salary structure of psychologists, in order to improve the service, and a unique cost framework will be allocated for this in the next framework agreement that applies to all public sector employees.
The Commissioner for Wages and Employment Agreements in the Ministry of Finance, Kobi Bar-Natan: "I welcome the agreement that encourages psychologists to increase the scope of their service in the public service. There is no doubt that the Corona period has sharpened the need for quality public psychological service. "It is special for the coming school year. It was also agreed on a future change in the structure of psychologists' salaries in order to adapt it to the challenges of the system and to streamline the service."
The chairman of the Histadrut, Arnon Bar-David, claimed: "I welcome the agreement signed after lengthy negotiations. The agreement improves the employment conditions of the educational psychologists, who face a difficult reality against the background of the ongoing corona crisis and work with endless devotion. I thank you. To the Ministry of Finance, to the local government, to the chairman of the Histadrut and to everyone who was involved in the efforts to reach the agreement. "
Haim Bibbs, Chairman of the Local Government Center and Mayor of Modiin Maccabim Reut, added: "I welcome the fact that we have reached an agreement that expresses the appreciation and recognition of the importance of the work of educational psychologists. "The time to improve their employment conditions - service providers who do unconditional sacred work, around the clock and especially in emergencies, as we came to know during the corona period when the congestion increased and in view of the special education law. We would like to thank our partners, the Ministry of Finance and the Histadrut."
