Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Yair Lapid was diagnosed with Coronavirus

Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Yair Lapid was diagnosed today (Monday) with Coronavirus. A statement issued on his behalf states that "Lapid is staying in his home in isolation and feeling well." Earlier today, Lapid announced that following exposure to his security guard who was diagnosed as verified, the Yesh Atid faction meeting was canceled. It was further stated that "in order to take extra precaution, Foreign Minister Lapid went out to his home and would do the checks as required." In a tweet, Lapid added that he "feels great that I'm vaccinated," and called for getting vaccinated and putting on a mask: "We'll get through this together."
Lapid attended a cabinet meeting yesterday morning and sat next to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, with the rest of the party leaders in the room. Documentation from the yeshiva also included a cough, after which Bennett was seen walking around smiling with the side from which the cough was heard, in which Lapid was sitting. A spokesman for the Prime Minister later announced that Bennett had been tested in an antigen test that came out negative. This is despite the new recommendations presented today by the Ministry of Health designed to streamline and refine home antigen tests. As part of the recommendations, users are asked to be tested three days after exposure to a verified patient, using a first sample from the throat and then from one of the nostrils - from the same stick.
Due to the spread of the Omicron strain, the cabinet meeting has been held for two weeks in three separate spaces: in one room the prime minister and the party leaders, in one room the other ministers, and in the third room the professionals appearing before the government.
Earlier, the Minister of Internal Security, Amar Bar-Lev, was also diagnosed as positive for Corona. MK Ophir Katz and MK Haim Katz of the Likud, and Yoav Ben-Zur (Shas) were also diagnosed as positive. All of them were recently in the Knesset on Wednesday. . Deputy Foreign Minister Idan Roll was also diagnosed in Corona, after being documented without a mask at a New Year's Eve party.
