Sano is expected to raise prices considerably. As you may recall, yesterday it was reported that the toiletries giant announced to the chains sharp price increases for its products starting on December 1, sometimes at a rate of more than 15 percent.
The marketing chains did not like the news. "We took it hard," said a senior official at one of the networks, "it is clear to us that it is not good for anyone. It is a scandal and we will enter into negotiations with them."
As much as the chains would like to go all the way, the same executive admits the power is not in their hands. "Snow is having a hand-to-hand battle here, and yet it should be remembered that this is one of our most significant providers. It will certainly not be easy, but we have decided not to give up."
In response to the move, the Rami Levy network said: "We have no price increase and there will be no price increase."
Snow responded to Walla! Money: "Due to the increase in raw materials and the prices of transportation and transportation, there are price increases. The information you have is inaccurate - December specials were transferred to the chains last week."
Following the price increase, the Standing Together movement, which is leading the 'Minimum 40' campaign to raise the minimum wage, sent an urgent appeal to the chairman of the Economics Committee, Michael Bitton, demanding an urgent debate in the Knesset.
In their application, they wrote: "While the significant upward trend in the cost of living, which includes both supermarket shopping and rent, is the only wage in the economy that does not change. End the month - when basic products become luxury products. "
They added: "In light of the above publications, we call on you to urgently convene the Economics Committee to discuss raising the minimum wage, in order to allow minimum wage earners to live with dignity in light of the significant jump in the cost of living. Raising the prices of basic products, without any change in the minimum wage, is a cruel act against hundreds of thousands of people in the State of Israel. "
