Virility Medical got an FDA approval for a premature ejaculation by men

Posted on Nov 25, 2021 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

A small Israeli company has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for one of the problems that worries hundreds of millions of men around the world - premature ejaculation. FDA approval comes after the company has already received approval from European authorities to market the product in Europe. Virility Medical, established in 2016, has developed a non-drug patch designed to treat the problem, which men apply to the skin, and as soon as required the patch produces electrical stimulation that prevents premature ejaculation.

The electrical signals transmitted by the patch change the rate at which a man's muscles contract and stretch, thus delaying the ejaculation process.
Almeda has recently invested in Virility Medical. One of the investors in Almeda is Murray Arkin, the largest biomed investor in the country and founder of the pharmaceutical company Agis, which was sold to Perrigo in 2004 for $ 800 million. Arkin Holdings, managed by Nir Arkin, Murray's son, together with options holds about 30% of Virility.
The Alameda R&D Partnership, which is managed by Dr. Irit Yaniv and founded by her, Amir Blatt and Tzachi Sultan, owns about 5.6% of Virility Medical. Half a year ago, Alameda led an investment of $ 8 million in Virility, when it itself invested about $ 1.5 million, and the Arkin Group invested the balance in 2020 and 2021 - $ 6.5 million in total.
Premature ejaculation is the most common disorder in a man's sexual function. Its prevalence is estimated in about 25% of men. The global market for the treatment of premature ejaculation is expected to reach an annual volume of about $ 3.5 billion in 2026, with a growth rate of 9%. The number of people who suffer from impotence in old age is similar to the number of people who suffer from premature ejaculation - it is tens of millions in the United States alone. According to Arkin, "Today men with the problem deal with it in two ways. One is low-dose antidepressants, but these create as a side effect adverse effects on the brain. The second product is a product that whispers the area, but does not work immediately and affects the course itself. "Our product does not affect the sensitivity of the organ or the sexual desire. Many people who have tried it have reported an improvement in orgasm."
Dr. Irit Yaniv, CEO of Alameda and Founder and Partner: "Virility offers an innovative and first-of-its-kind technological solution to the problem of premature ejaculation, with significant advantages compared to pharmacological treatments that can cause side effects. FDA approval, along with CE (European Council) approval First accepted several months ago, allows the company to start selling and commercializing the technology in the United States and the European Union. this".
David Salton, CEO of Virility Medical: “This is a groundbreaking product. One in four men in the world suffers from premature ejaculation, and only 18% suffer from erectile dysfunction. 80 million people are treated in Europe and the United States. But our market is much bigger, like Viagra is used by untreated men ... it's a non-chemical solution and it's a big advantage. The sticker works with immediate effect. "According to Salton, the marketing of the sticker will begin in the second quarter of 2022, first in Europe.
