Dropbox Israel has won a major cloud storage project in the Tel Aviv municipality in the amount of about half a million shekels
As part of the project, Dropbox was selected as the exclusive provider for the establishment of a sharing platform and will carry out a large project to transfer all public library systems and internal files to an advanced cloud system.
Dropbox Israel, has been selected as the sole provider of cloud computing in the Tel Aviv Municipality and as part of this will carry out a large cloud storage project to transfer all of the municipality's public library systems and internal files to advanced Dropbox cloud systems. The scope of the project is about half a million shekels - and it is part of the general transition from local infrastructure to IaaS carried out by the municipality.
The main challenge faced by the Tel Aviv Municipality is the fact that it must manage two types of data - sensitive municipal data and data originating from the public. The municipality has been looking for a system that can safely handle this business challenge.
The system will make it possible to replace the old storage method, in which the municipality's computer team stores the data on a variety of storage platforms such as personal cloud drives, disk-on-key, etc. that are limited in storage space, difficult to manage and less secure and reliable. Dropbox's cloud system provides users with a secure and reliable storage solution, which allows end users - municipal employees in community centers - to focus on work and release managerial load from the IT staff.
Omar Nesher, Director of Information Technology and Projects, Tel Aviv Municipality: "We consider Dropbox a strategic and reliable business partner. The municipality produces a huge amount of distributed data. After intensive testing, Dropbox has proven to be the best tool to manage them. It is, without a doubt, a service. The most secure, cost-effective and user-friendly cloud storage on the market. "
Sahar Yosef, Sales Director of Israel and Africa, Dropbox, at the Dropbox Israel Development Center: "We are proud and excited to be selected from a variety of leading suppliers, to be the exclusive suppliers of the Tel Aviv Municipality in everything related to cloud computing, and to drive this precedent leading one of Israel's largest and most advanced municipalities. "After understanding the customer's needs, we were able to characterize the systems to best suit the municipality's use. Later, the municipality is considering integrating HelloSign technology into some of its products, which will also allow it to manage documents that require digital signatures conveniently and securely."
