The most customer-friendly bank in the Corona year was Bank Leumi

About 10,500 requests for information and complaints against the banks were submitted to the Supervisor of Banks in 2020 - a record number in the last five years. This increase is due, among other things, to the corona crisis and its implications for the public. This is according to a report published by the Bank of Israel's Supervisor of Banks. According to the report, the most customer-friendly bank in the Corona year was Bank Leumi and the bank against which the highest number of justified complaints were filed was Discount.
According to the report, Mizrahi-Tefahot Bank's share of complaints and requests handled by the Public Inquiries Unit in the Supervisor of Banks was the smallest in relation to its share in the system, for the fourth year in a row.
 In the past year, 34.7% of the complaints filed by customers against Discount Bank were found to be justified. Of the complaints about Bank Leumi, 28.9% were justified, against the International Bank the rate of justified complaints was 23.8%, at Bank Hapoalim 18.3% of the complaints were justified and Bank Mizrahi-Tefahot was the most outstanding with only 12.8% of the complaints found to be justified.

The rate of justified complaints against the banks was about 24% in 2020. As part of the handling of the complaints, about NIS 6.1 million was returned to the public in 2020. In about 30% of the complaints clarified by the Bank of Israel's Public Inquiries Unit, , Filling out an application, restoring the status quo ante and compensation.
