The appointment of Maxine Fesberg as chairman of Netivei Ayalon was approved this evening by the Public Service Appointments Committee headed by Judge Bilha Gilour. Fesberg is the candidate of Transportation Minister Merav Michaeli for the position.
Fesberg served as CEO of Intel Israel for a decade and as vice president of Intel Global. In 2017, she was nominated for the position of Chairman of the Innovation Authority, but following the acquisition of Mobilai by Intel, Fesberg received an offer from Brian Krasnich, CEO of Intel Global, to lead the merger process. The company Fesberg worked at Intel until 2020.
During her career, Fesberg has won several awards in Israel and around the world in recognition of her work in the world of technology and industry. In 2014, she was chosen to light a beacon on Independence Day as the representative of Israeli industry.
Michaeli said: "Ayalon Highways carries on its shoulders some of the great and important challenges facing the Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety and it needs a chairman to take it to the realization of these challenges and beyond. Maxine Fesberg is an inspiring character, whose brilliant management and leadership abilities are known to all. In a world where most of the management positions in high-tech and technology companies are staffed by men, Maxine is not only a groundbreaking manager but also a groundbreaking woman.
The Ministry of Transportation stated that "upon taking office, Fesberg is expected to appoint a new CEO for Ayalon Highways, in light of the planned and imminent departure of current CEO Itamar Ben Meir."
