"The package deal in the economy will be signed by the beginning of November, with the approval of the state budget." This is what the chairman of the Histadrut, Arnon Bar-David, said.
Indeed, in recent days there have been feverish contacts with finance representatives led by CEO Ram Blinkov to summarize the terms of the deal.
The intention is to raise the minimum wage in a few beats over three years. Raising the minimum wage has extraordinary consequences for all wage levels in the economy, as well as for some of the benefits.
Only recently has it been agreed that the income supplement benefits for the elderly will be linked to half of the minimum wage. The issue of the minimum wage is also acceptable to employers' organizations. However, another key clause in the agreement, which relates to shortening the working week and introducing six long weekends, has not yet been agreed.
Employers' organizations vehemently oppose this clause, which they say could hurt productivity. The parties are trying to formulate alternatives to this in the form of a format for changing the vacation days for employees. The chairman of the Histadrut told Maariv: The most important thing for me is to raise the minimum wage, and I am happy to announce that there is a breakthrough in this area. "
